YouTube developers have released a major update on all platforms

YouTube developers have released a major update for the video hosting service on all platforms, TechCrunch reports .

First of all, the standard player was updated: the ability to adjust the playback speed in 0.05 increments by pressing the “-” and “+” buttons was added, the text and preview were enlarged, and the response to user actions was sped up. One of the notable innovations was the mini-player on smartphones, which can now be moved around the entire screen within the application and scaled. A sleep timer function for scheduled video shutdown was also added.

In addition, playlists can now be created collaboratively with friends and cover art can be personalized with your own or generated images, and playlist invitations can be sent, including via QR codes.

Video bloggers have been given the opportunity to add achievements for subscribers to YouTube and YouTube Music. Users can earn special badges for actively listening to artists, early connection of a paid subscription, or correct answers to quizzes.

The updated YouTube client for TVs received support for Shorts short videos with the ability to read comments and perform other actions within the platform without interrupting the video viewing.

Earlier, Telegram introduced the ability to play Doom on smartphones and PCs.
