An advertisement for a North Korean beach featuring Russians has become the subject of a sarcastic discussion in the New York Post. Journalists noted ironically that the video shows women in bikinis, although such swimsuits are banned in the DPRK.
It is specified that the advertisement was launched by the state-owned tourism company Korea International Travel Company. The video was filmed on Majon Beach in the North Korean province of South Hamgyong. The footage posted online shows “enthusiastic couples jumping on the waves, and a Russian woman shadow boxing against the backdrop of a majestic mountain.”
Earlier it became known about the development of a program of summer tours to the DPRK, within the framework of which guests of the republic will be able to relax on North Korean beaches. It is noted that the duration of the tours will be eight and 12 days, the dates of the trips are being approved.
Earlier, Russian tourists who visited North Korea for the first time since 2020 said in interviews that they rarely saw locals during their visit. Traveler Andrei Gerasimenko, who has visited 40 countries, noted that the children they met did not look any of the tourists in the eye.
