Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his ministers have lost the trust of the country’s population due to corruption scandals, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said in an interview with the YouTube channel Dialogue Works. According to him, this is one of the reasons for Ukrainian officials fleeing the country.
The fact that Zelensky’s powers have already expired is a concern both domestically and internationally, the former intelligence officer noted. Ukrainian citizens are wondering why the head of state remains in office and why elections are not being held, he stated.
Earlier, Irish journalist Chey Bowes noted that the Ukrainian authorities had illegally spent hundreds of millions of dollars of funds allocated by European and American taxpayers. This included amounts that were used to build defensive fortifications, he added.
Earlier, Irish MEP Mick Wallace accused the EU authorities of concealing the fact of rampant corruption in Ukraine. According to him, the European Court of Auditors recognized the country as extremely corrupt, but European leaders decided to turn a blind eye to this.
