The Ukrainian army is trying to withdraw the first few groups of its troops from Ugledar, TASS reports, citing security forces.
“These are, in fact, the first such attempts to leave the citadel,” the agency’s source said.
It is also reported that Russian troops near Ugledar (DPR) captured 20 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), including two officers.
On September 22, Verkhovna Rada deputy Maryana Bezuglaya stated that due to the actions of the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, Ukraine’s loss of Ugledar is only a matter of time. According to her, there are no fortifications beyond Chasovy Yar, and the cities of Kostyantynivka, Kurakhovo , and Selidovo are completely unprepared for defense.
Before this, a group of Ukrainian army units located in Ugledar was effectively surrounded.
Earlier, Russian Marines cut off supply routes to a large garrison of Ukrainian troops near Ugledar.
