Singer Alla Pugacheva and showman Maxim Galkin (included in the list of foreign agents by the Russian Ministry of Justice) will not be deprived of parental rights due to relocations, Tatarstan Children’s Ombudsman Irina Volynets told NEWS.ru. According to her, frequent changes of residence are not grounds for such a decision. She emphasized that there are professions whose representatives often move, for example, the military.
In our country, frequent changes of residence are not grounds for deprivation of parental rights. There are professions whose representatives often change their place of residence, for example, the military. There are no grounds for deprivation of parental rights here , Volynets explained.
In addition, according to her, the initiative to deprive parents of their rights may be put forward by either representatives of guardianship authorities, or legal representatives of children, or employees of the prosecutor’s office. As the ombudsman noted, there is a list of grounds for depriving citizens of their rights.
Earlier, lawyer Sergei Zhorin stated that Pugacheva and Galkin cannot be deprived of parental rights at the request of activists. According to him, only the state, represented by the prosecutor’s office or other bodies, and not public figures, can initiate this process. The lawyer believes that the organization “Veterans of Russia”, which came forward with the proposal to take the children away from Pugacheva and Galkin in the event of their return to Russia, is trying to gain publicity by using famous personalities.
