The seventh-generation iPad mini tablet, introduced in mid-October, received a cut-down Apple A17 Pro chip, which is weaker than the version used in the iPhone 15 Pro, WCCFTech reports .

According to the source, the Apple 17 Pro chipset used by the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max has a six-core GPU, while the new iPad mini has a five-core GPU. The number of CPU cores remains the same.

It is assumed that Apple could also reduce the processor frequencies. However, this hypothesis can only be verified after the start of sales and independent tests. Then experts will be able to check how much the iPad mini lags behind last year’s iPhone 15 Pro in graphics tests, for example, in heavy games.

The 2024 iPad mini features an 8.3-inch IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, and a single 12MP front and rear camera.

The seventh-generation iPad mini is now available for pre-order and will go on general sale on October 23, starting at $499 (about 48.4 thousand rubles) for the 128 GB version.

Earlier it was reported that 200 infected Android applications were found in the Google Play store.
