Tourists almost never cancel tours that involve flying over Iran, since many trips for the nearest dates were booked a month earlier, said Artur Muradyan, vice president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, in an interview with the radio station Govorit Moskva. According to him, Russian carriers are under pressure because they are required to fly over the air territory of the Islamic Republic in the evening and at night.

The tourists themselves, due to the fact that most tours for the nearest dates were already booked about a month ago, practically do not cancel their trips. But they ask questions about what to do if the sky is closed. Fortunately, the closure of Iranian airspace simply leads to an extra hour on the road , he said .

Earlier, ATOR Director Maya Lomidze stated that several dozen Russian tourists were in Iran on October 1 and were safe. She noted that no requests for early termination of their vacation had been received.

Before this, the Russian Union of Travel Industry refused to disclose details of  the 28 million ruble Kemer tour package  , which turned out to be the most expensive this tourist season. RST representatives clarified that this was commercial information.
