That evening, at one of Moscow’s most iconic and prestigious venues, one could hear speech in literally every language in the world. Guests, many of whom had arrived well in advance, leisurely examined an exhibition of photographs dedicated to Brazil’s agricultural potential. The country is one of the world’s largest food producers, and this makes it related to Russia, with which economic ties have become increasingly stronger in recent years.

Last year, Russian-Brazilian trade turnover reached a record volume of 11 billion dollars – not least due to the growth of Russian fertilizer exports. It is no coincidence that the headliner of the event in Zaryadye on the Russian side was EuroChem, whose fertilizers are in high demand on the Brazilian market.

In March of this year, the company launched a phosphate fertilizer production complex with a capacity of 1 million tons per year in the Brazilian city of Serra do Salitre.

“The project in the city of Serra do Salitre contributes to increasing the volume of food production in our country. We are very proud that today our products are consumed by about a billion people around the world. Of course, we welcome this investment project in every way.

It demonstrates the confidence of Russian companies in Brazil’s potential and its economic prospects,” said Brazilian Ambassador to Russia Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares on the sidelines of the event.
