Moscow is no longer the most attractive city for young IT specialists

In the third quarter of 2024, Rostov-on-Don and Samara became the most attractive cities for those starting their careers in IT and telecom, offering the highest salaries in Russia for new employees in this field. Gazeta.Ru learned this from a study of average salaries offered for young specialists in the field of information technology and telecommunications with up to 3 years of work experience by the Avito Jobs service, a copy of which is available to the editorial staff.

The average salary offered in IT for applicants for junior specialties in Russia was 73,756 rubles, which is 18% more than in Q3 2023. Rostov-on-Don took first place in the ranking with the highest average salary in the past quarter – 107,934 rubles per month with a full schedule, which is twice as high as the same period last year. This is the largest increase in average salary offers in Russia in this period.

Samara took second place in the rating, where junior specialists are offered an average of 101,688 rubles per month for a full working day. This is 75% higher than the year before. Moscow closes the top three, where applicants for this position in IT with up to 3 years of experience are offered an average of 97,773 rubles. The year-on-year growth of the indicator was 38%.

Novosibirsk and Nizhny Novgorod occupy fourth and fifth places respectively, with salary offers for junior positions of 96,342 (+78% per year) and 86,855 (+14% per year) rubles per month. Also, the offered salaries increased by 72% in  Kazan , by 59% in  Perm and by 47% in  Krasnoyarsk . This indicates that regional IT hubs continue to actively attract more and more young specialists.
