Kaspersky has recorded tens of millions of cyberattack attempts on Russian companies via remote desktop programs in 2024. This was reported by Igor Kuznetsov, head of the Kaspersky GReAT threat analysis center, at a briefing at IT Press Meeting, RIA Novosti reports .

At the press conference, one of the most popular hacking methods was named – access via remote desktop services, that is, RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol. – editor’s note)

“In the first three quarters, we registered 85 million attempts at these attacks,” Kuznetsov said.

He specified that one of the main tools in a cyber attack is financial malware (FMW). The number of business users attacked in this way has grown by 26% over the year. At the same time, the number of stealer programs used to steal logins and passwords has also increased by 30%.

Last Wednesday, September 25, it became known that users of WhatsApp and other messengers are advised not to forward postcards or follow unknown links in messages, so as not to fall victim to fraudulent activities.

Previously, Kaspersky Lab adapted Telegram for its operating system.
