Children in Russian-speaking families in Moldova are the most discriminated part of the population, journalist Elena Pakhomova said at the Warsaw conference. According to her, the republic’s authorities prohibit TV channels from showing cartoons in their language. She added that the interests of Russian children and Bulgarians were also not taken into account in Gagauzia, TASS reports.

The most discriminated part of the population are children of national minorities. It is not customary to talk about cartoons from high platforms, but I will say: the Moldovan code of audiovisual services provides for the total translation of all cartoons and feature films for children only [into] the state language. An exception was made for Gagauzia, but the interests of Russians and Bulgarians were not taken into account , – said Pakhomova.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian government supported the bill on introducing liability for Russophobia into the Criminal Code. The amendments are proposed to be made to the third part of Article 12 “Application of the criminal law with respect to persons who committed a crime outside the Russian Federation” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The norm will apply to foreigners and stateless persons who do not permanently reside in Russia and who committed a crime outside the Russian Federation, including against compatriots who are not citizens of the Russian Federation.
