Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has spoken about an incident in which a listening device was found in the toilet of the British Foreign Office building after his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu visited the country, The Telegraph reports. According to the politician, the incident occurred back in 2017.

It may or may not be a coincidence, but I was told that later, when <…> they were doing a routine check for bugs, <…> they found a listening device in the restroom , Johnson explained in his yet-to-be-published memoir.

At the same time, when journalists asked the former prime minister to give more details about the incident, he noted that all the answers were already in the book. The authors of the article clarified that nothing is known about the reaction after the incident or reproaches against Tel Aviv.

Earlier, the public movement “Call of the People” proposed to open a criminal case against former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The organization specified that the reason was the politician’s statements about Russia in a conversation with pranksters Vovan (Vladimir Kuznetsov) and Lexus (Alexei Stolyarov).

Earlier, after Ukraine’s attack on the Kursk region, Johnson called for Kiev to be allowed to strike targets in Russia with Western weapons in order to “finish the job.” In a column for the Daily Mail, the politician called the attack on the border “the best news for a long time.”
