Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s tactics have worked very well in Ukraine, former Pentagon adviser Douglas MacGregor said in an interview with YouTube channel Deep Dive. He called the Russian president’s position restrained and cautious, noting that thanks to it, the Russian side has achieved success.
The colonel emphasized that even military aid from the West did not help the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Kyiv was unable to stop the advance of the Russian Armed Forces in any direction, the expert concluded.
Earlier, retired Ukrainian army general Serhiy Krivonos said that at the moment Ukraine can only hope for a miracle . According to him, the situation at the front for the Ukrainian Armed Forces has become, to put it mildly, critical. The retired general noted that the authorities in Kiev have always said things that are the opposite of the real situation, but now the situation is moving towards the fact that it will be increasingly difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to fight, since “the infantry, as the infantrymen themselves said, is beginning to die out as a branch of the military.”
Earlier, retired Ukrainian Armed Forces Colonel Sergey Grabsky said that the Russian army could soon complete a strategic task in Donbass. According to him, the Russian Armed Forces have come close to reaching the borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. He specified that the success of the Russian troops is brought closer by the situation in Ugledar, from where the Ukrainian Armed Forces units have left.
