Israeli Air Force fighter jets are carrying out a series of pinpoint strikes on the southern outskirts of Beirut, Al Jadeed TV reported. Journalists clarified that the sounds of explosions are coming from the Haret Horeik neighborhood, where the headquarters of the Shiite organization Hezbollah are concentrated.

Before this, an Israeli army spokesman warned residents of Haret Horeik to evacuate several buildings, warning that they would soon be hit by airstrikes.

On September 20, the IDF Spokesperson’s Office also reported that the IDF carried out a targeted strike on the Lebanese capital. In total, the Israeli army fired four missiles at Beirut. Local media reported that the target of the air strike was the head of the Hezbollah Special Operations Command, Ibrahim Akil.

Later, the Telegram channel Zvezdanews published a video taken in the Lebanese capital after the airstrike . The video shows destroyed buildings in the suburbs of Beirut. At the time, work was underway to clear the rubble at the scene. Some buildings had almost lost their facades, and cars were visible everywhere, completely or partially buried under the rubble.

The official representative of the UN chief Stephane Dujarric noted that the world organization is concerned about the Israeli strike on the Lebanese capital. According to him, the UN insists on an immediate end to hostilities in the region.
