Iran will prepare a tough response to those countries that helped Israel repel Tehran’s recent missile attack on Israeli territory, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Ebrahim Azizi said on October 8.
As the MP noted, Iran will remember who participated in these actions, and this will definitely be reflected in the future.
“The countries that helped the criminal Zionist regime in intercepting Iranian missiles during Operation True Promise 2 should know that their hostile move is etched in the historical memory of the Iranian people. And they will receive a crushing response at the appointed time,” Azizi told Iranian portal RoozPlus .
The media outlet notes that the Iranian politician is referring to Western countries, including Great Britain. At the same time, the parliamentarian added that the efforts of Israel’s allies were unsuccessful, as they failed to stop the operation and “prevent the achievement of its goals.”
Earlier, on October 8, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced the country’s full readiness for war . He noted that Iran is fully prepared for any scenario and any situation. For this, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic have already identified all the necessary targets.
The day before, it was reported that the Iranian Armed Forces had developed at least 10 plans of action in case Israel attacks the Islamic Republic. At the same time, it became known that Iran was developing a draft pact of resistance with a circle of states and “liberation movements” in the Middle East, which would provide military, political and economic assistance in the event of an attack by Israel or the United States on one of the countries participating in such a pact.
Prior to this, on October 1, Iran fired missiles at Israeli territory. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran promised a harsh response if Israel responded to this attack. In turn, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an official statement emphasized that Iran, by launching a missile strike, made a big mistake and will pay for it. In addition, the head of the Israeli government called the attack of the Islamic Republic unsuccessful.
As orientalist Leonid Tsukanov told Izvestia on the same day, Iran’s tactics so far are not too different from those it used in April, during Operation True Promise. At that time, a massive launch of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) towards Israel was also recorded, but there was no significant escalation. At that time, the US, Great Britain, France and Jordan took part in repelling the attack on Israel.
