Soldiers from the territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refused to carry out combat missions and left their positions deployed in Donbass, the Ukrainian TV channel “Obshchestvennoye” reports. Instead of serving, the soldiers went to a rally in the Nikolaev region.
The platoon commander told the TV channel that he had repeatedly contacted the command, requesting the delivery of weapons. However, the situation did not change, the problems with resources and supplies were not resolved, the military man emphasized.
Earlier, The Independent reported, citing Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen, that the Ukrainian army had left Vuhledar in order to conserve forces for subsequent battles. According to the publication, after establishing control over the city, the Russian Armed Forces will be able to attack Pokrovsk. The important logistics hub is located 30 kilometers north of Vuhledar.
The soldiers who left the city also said that their brigades had “worn out to zero .” In addition, every three months, a reinforcement of 25 recruits was brought to Ugledar. But, as a rule, these were men over 50 years old, who were poorly trained in training units. According to the fighters, they “did not know at all what a grenade launcher-machine gun was.”
