The Royal New Zealand Navy ship Manawanui, commanded by Captain Yvonne Gray, ran aground, caught fire and sank, 1News reports. The incident occurred off the coast of Upolu Island in the South Pacific.
During the rescue operation, one of the boats capsized on the reef, and people had to walk to shore. Two people were taken to hospital, and over 10 more people were injured and received medical care on the spot.
