California Governor Gavin Newsom of  the Democratic Party said he rejected a bill to require mandatory security testing of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, RIA Novosti reports .

If passed, the document would be one of the first pieces of legislation in the field of AI in  the United States . The law would require major companies, including Google and OpenAI, not only to test the safety of AI systems, but also to ensure that they can be completely shut down in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

“I am returning the bill <…> without my signature,” Newsom said.

Any framework to effectively regulate AI “must keep pace with the technology itself,” he said.

Last Thursday, September 26, in an exclusive interview with The New York Times, iconic game designer Shigeru Miyamoto shared his vision for the development of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Nintendo’s approach to innovation in the video game industry.

Earlier, an analyst from Indonesia explained how Russia could win in Ukraine with the help of AI.
