US President Joe Biden is unlikely to announce his decision on using Western long-range missiles to strike deep into Russia following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the British newspaper The Times reported, citing sources. The publication says that this is a “truly British-American decision.”
According to the publication, an unnamed diplomat from a NATO member country said that the “threat level” from Russia “has never been higher.” However, according to him, the key problem is that “we don’t know where the red lines actually are.”
The authors also note that Zelensky will demand security guarantees to prevent Ukraine from being forced into an “unfavorable peace agreement.” This could be initiated by Republican Donald Trump if he wins the presidential election.
Last week it became known that following the talks between Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the United States is not ready to announce the lifting of restrictions on long-range weapons strikes deep into Russia for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. As the official representative of the State Department Matthew Miller stated, the United States continues to support Ukraine in other matters.
Earlier, Zelensky announced a “victory plan” that he would present to Biden. In an interview with CNN, he spoke about five points. Zelensky saved the last one for ending the conflict. Biden will receive Zelensky in Washington on September 26 , the White House official website reported.
