The press service of the MLS club Atlanta responded on social media to the penalty kick scored by Alexey Miranchuk in the MLS match against New York.

“Cold-blooded, calm Miranchuk,” wrote the Atlanta press service.

The meeting ended with a score of 2:2.

Edwin Mosquera also scored for Atlanta, while Dante Wanzeir and Elias Manoel also scored for New York.

The transfer of the Russian semi-finalist to Atlanta was officially announced on July 30. Previously, Alexey played for the Italian Atalanta since 2020 with a break for Torino, where he went on loan. Last season, the 28-year-old Russian played 42 matches for the Bergamaschi in all tournaments, in these matches he scored four goals and made 12 assists. In total, he has 13 goals scored and 19 assists in 98 matches for the club from northern Italy . Together with Atalanta, Miranchuk won the Europa League.

Atlanta will play Philadelphia Union in their next match. The meeting will take place on September 29. The teams will take to the field at 2.30 Moscow time.

Earlier, Miranchuk did not notice the absence of the Russian flag in the match announcements.
