American customers continue to use Kaspersky Lab antivirus products despite their ban in  the US due to sanctions. Due to the blocking of access to cloud security services, users are forced to use blocking bypass tools to receive updates, the Habr portal reports .

Some Americans reported that they had purchased licenses before the blocking was introduced and did not want to switch to products from other manufacturers. One user noted that he was able to get updates using blocking bypass tools. Some also admitted that they had configured the app to receive updates from servers outside the US.

Users claim that Kaspersky antivirus remains the best in the world, and they have no evidence of its use for spying. The habit of using a proven product for many years is also an argument in their favor. They consider the ban on the sale of Kaspersky Lab software in the United States to be excessively harsh and unnecessary.

On July 16, 2024, Kaspersky Lab announced that it would exit the US market and provide users in the region with six months of free security software as a parting gift.

On October 7, 2024, Kaspersky Lab announced that Google had removed the company’s apps from the Google Play store. Although the U.S. Department of Commerce sanctions prohibit the sale of the company’s products in the United States, they do not restrict the sale and distribution of products outside the country.

Earlier it was reported that the official Android app store was full of viruses.
