Russia to film popular game based on Russian folklore

Based on the popular Russian game “Black Book”, they are planning to make a series with live actors. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Kinopoisk Games” with reference to a statement by director Nikita Ordynsky at the conference “Gaming Industry”.

Ordynsky is already working on the script. It is assumed that the first season will consist of eight episodes. The project is being consulted by the Morteshka studio, the creators of the original game. The release date of the series is currently unknown.

Nikita Ordynsky is known as the director of short films based on the video games Papers Please and Beholder.

“The Black Book” is a role-playing adventure computer game developed by the Russian studio Morteshka in August 2021. The game is set in the Cherdynsky district of the Perm province of the Russian Empire. The plot of the game is largely based on Russian folklore, Komi-Permyak mythology and epics.

The game is available on all popular platforms, including PlayStation and Nintendo. On Steam, it has a “very positive rating”, with 93% of all reviews being positive.

It was previously reported that gamers are more financially successful than people who are not interested in games.
