Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has positively assessed the results of the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the press secretary of the head of the Armenian Cabinet Nazeli Baghdasaryan reported. According to her, the parties discussed a wide range of issues and came to a number of agreements on energy, education and humanitarian cooperation, Sputnik Armenia reports.
Earlier, Baghdasaryan said that Putin and Pashinyan had agreed at a meeting in Moscow that from January 1, 2025, the republic’s borders with Turkey and Iran would be guarded by both Russian border guards and the border troops of the National Security Service of Armenia. In addition, according to her, only Armenian border guards would be stationed at the checkpoint on the republic’s border with Iran.
Prior to this, Pashinyan, during a meeting with the Russian president, said that an active political dialogue had taken place between Yerevan and Moscow in recent months . In particular, he called the conversation with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk meaningful.
