“In a telephone conversation, Recep Tayyip Erdogan warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on his birthday. The leaders expressed satisfaction with the constructive nature of Russian-Turkish relations and readiness for further close cooperation,” the statement said.

The leaders of the two countries discussed current bilateral and international issues, including the dangerous developments in the Middle East. In addition, the parties confirmed the agreement to hold a separate meeting during the BRICS summit in Kazan.

Earlier that day, Putin was congratulated on his birthday by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko . In his congratulations, the leader of the republic emphasized his confidence that Minsk and Moscow will be able to open up new horizons and outline promising areas of cooperation.

Putin was also congratulated on his birthday by military personnel located in the special military operation (SVO) zone, artists, singers, athletes and other members of “Putin’s Team”.
