Moldova has reduced the number of polling stations in Russia from five to two, said Angela Karaman, chairperson of the republic’s Central Electoral Commission. They are intended for the presidential elections on October 20, which will be held simultaneously with the referendum on joining the EU, TASS reports.
Earlier, journalist Elena Pakhomova reported at the Warsaw conference that children in Russian-speaking families in Moldova are the most discriminated part of the population. According to her, the republic’s authorities prohibit TV channels from showing cartoons in their language. She added that the interests of Russian children and Bulgarians were also not taken into account in Gagauzia.
Earlier, it was reported that the Russian government supported the bill on introducing liability for Russophobia into the Criminal Code. The amendments are proposed to be made to the third part of Article 12 “Application of the criminal law with respect to persons who committed a crime outside the Russian Federation” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The norm will apply to foreigners and stateless persons who do not permanently reside in Russia and who committed a crime outside the Russian Federation, including against compatriots who are not citizens of the Russian Federation.
