The military wing of Hamas has promised to continue the “battle of attrition” against the Jewish state, TASS reports. The corresponding statement was made on October 7, 2024, on the anniversary of the attack on Israel: a year ago, Hamas-led militants attacked southern Israel and killed about 1,200 people. Hamas also stated that Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip could die or go missing.

What happened to the six hostages in Rafah could happen to others if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government continue to persist , the agency quotes the group’s spokesman Abu Ubaid as saying.

A spokesman for Hamas’ military wing said the risks were growing every day and the fate of the hostages depended on further decisions by the Israeli government. He also noted that hostages in the conflict zone could be caught in crossfire and killed by their own soldiers.

Earlier it became known that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the escalation in the Middle East . According to the Russian leader’s aide Yuri Ushakov, Putin maintains contacts with Tel Aviv regarding the situation in the region.
