Hollywood star Keanu Reeves made his professional racing debut on Saturday, October 6, at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The actor, who played leading roles in the blockbusters The Matrix, Speed and John Wick, crashed halfway through the race, The Guardian reports.
Reeves, who qualified 31st out of 35 cars, moved up to 21st and successfully avoided a first-lap collision at Turn 14. The actor finished 25th.
The 60-year-old Matrix star is racing in Indianapolis as part of the Toyota GR Cup, Toyota spec racing series and support series for the Indy 8 Hour this weekend. He’s scheduled to make his second appearance on October 6.
Earlier, actress Sandra Bullock said that she wanted to star in a film with her colleague Keanu Reeves at least once more before her death. She noted that this point is in the category of necessary things to do.
Bullock and Reeves met on the set of Speed in 1994. Reeves subsequently turned down the sequel because he didn’t like the script. However, he admitted that the characters had good chemistry. The stars also reunited on The Lake House in 2006.
