Some brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not received weapons for more than two years, said the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Politics Ruslan Bortnik, RIA Novosti reports. According to him, there are 14 such units in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The political scientist added that if the West does not provide the assistance requested by President Volodymyr Zelensky, the front will move to the Dnipropetrovsk region by December 1. Bortnik emphasized that this is not only about allowing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike deep into Russia, but also about the supply of new weapons.
On September 27, Politico reported, citing its sources, that the US government has not yet reached a final decision on whether to allow the Ukrainian military to use American weapons to strike deep into Russia . The newspaper points out that discussions are ongoing despite the Pentagon’s position that Kiev would not receive any strategic benefit from permission in the global sense.
At the same time, US President Joe Biden decided to transfer long-range Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) ammunition to Ukraine. The Democrat emphasized that the new support measure is intended to “strengthen the capabilities” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
