The most “exemplary” borrowers in Russia are civil servants (the share of overdue loans is 17.5%), financiers (18%) and doctors (18.1%). This is stated in a study by the company “Robot Zaimer” (Gazeta.Ru has a copy).
Engineers (18.4%) and IT specialists (19.3%) can also boast high payment discipline.
Blue-collar workers (20.1%), tourism workers (20.3%) and marketers (20.8%) demonstrate average payment discipline.
Compared to last year, representatives of all professions began to treat debt repayment more responsibly – the share of overdue loans decreased for absolutely everyone. At the same time, IT specialists showed the most noticeable improvement in payment discipline (the share of overdue payments decreased by 3.3 percentage points). Excellent dynamics were also shown by farmers (-3 percentage points), “blue collars” (-2.5 percentage points) and engineers (-2.4 percentage points).
“These results demonstrate that the level of payment discipline largely depends on the degree of responsibility that a particular profession entails. Those who, due to their job responsibilities, learn to take on important decisions, subsequently take a more responsible approach to paying off financial obligations,” noted Roman Makarov, CEO of MFC Zaimer .
In September, the company’s analysts analyzed more than 500 thousand applications for loans in August 2024 and determined which specialists in which profiles most often allow late payments, and which ones least often.
Earlier, the lawyer told Russians about the consequences of late loan payments.
