Crimea has become the most popular holiday destination for Russians this summer. The number of hotel bookings on the peninsula has grown by 44% in a year.
Such statistics were provided to Gazeta.Ru by the press service of the Ostrovok service.
The top 3 fast-growing destinations included Amur Region (+40% bookings per year) and Sakhalin (+37%). In Kamchatka, the number of hotel bookings increased by 30% year-on-year.
The top ten most popular regions included Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, Tatarstan , as well as Rostov, Yaroslavl and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
The average cost per night in booked hotels was 5.7 thousand rubles, which is 19% more than last year.
Most often, Russians booked hotels without stars – they accounted for a third of bookings.
