The survey revealed that in most cases Russians were disappointed with the purchase of apartments smaller than 28 square meters. Among the key reasons, respondents named the area being too small for living with a couple (in 15% of cases) and an unsuccessful layout (in 12% of cases). In 8% of cases, respondents admitted that the area was too small for comfortable living even for one person.
In addition, many note that this type of apartment turned out to be difficult to rent out (in 15% of cases). Nevertheless, many remain satisfied with the purchase of a small apartment: the vast majority of respondents (74%) do not plan to exchange their housing for a larger apartment. Respondents are convinced that they bought a studio apartment profitably for less than a one-room apartment in the same location (in 15% of cases).
At the same time, every sixth respondent (15%) still plans to resell their small apartment in the future and increase their living space profitably.
Most buyers of smart apartments are people under 35 who are not married, or 40-45-year-old citizens who are buying their first home for their children.
