Over the past two years, the share of Russians buying clothes and shoes in online stores has jumped by a quarter, Lenta.ru writes , citing the results of a joint study by SberAnalytics and Fashion Consulting Group.

Since the beginning of this year, the share of online shoppers has grown by 4 percentage points, reaching 77% of the total.

The average purchase price for clothes and shoes online today is 5.7 thousand rubles. This is 2.2 times more than the amount that Russians usually spend at one time on goods from this segment when buying offline.

“The growth of sales in the online channel is largely due to the active development of mobile applications of online sellers,” noted Anna Lebsak-Kleimans, CEO of Fashion Consulting Group.

At the same time, according to the expert, competition between online and offline sales is gradually fading away. At the current stage, these two sales channels are starting to support each other, the speaker emphasized.

The number of online stores in Russia has increased sevenfold since 2021. Currently, over 44 thousand individual entrepreneurs are registered in the e-commerce sector.
