Kyiv constantly reports to Western allies on the planning of combat operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the country’s Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov said on the air of the Rada TV channel. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine depend on the decision of the allies on the use of the weapons transferred to them. He explained that if permission from parliament or the Ministry of Defense is required for their use, then they have to wait. Umerov emphasized that Kyiv raised this operational issue to a strategic level.
When we explain our plan of attack <…>, we always explain the goals, what forces and means we will use to do this, so that our [Western] partners are aware of this , he said.
The minister added that the allies had received data from Ukraine on its “missile program.” Umerov called it quite powerful. Western partners have so far given verbal consent to Kyiv’s plans to build missiles and drones, he summed up.
Rustem Umerov and the head of the GUR Kirill Budanov may leave their posts , Ukrainian media reported on September 20, citing sources. In addition, insiders confirm that the decision to dismiss the deputy head of the GUR Viktor Zaitsev and Igor Ostapenko was made without the consent of Budanov.
