People’s Artist of Russia, opera singer Vladislav Verestnikov has passed away, the press service of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater (GABT) of Russia told TASS. He was 77 years old. The cause is said to be a long and serious illness.
Vladislav Arkadyevich Verestnikov died today at the age of 78 from a serious, long-term illness , the statement said .
Verestnikov graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics, and then entered the vocal department of the Kharkov Institute of Arts. In 1977, he was accepted into the trainee group of the Bolshoi Theater, but the following year he was transferred to the main troupe. Over the years of his work, he performed more than 30 parts in operas by Russian and foreign composers.
Earlier it was reported that Soviet cameraman Leonid Burlaka , who filmed the cult series “The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed” together with director Stanislav Govorukhin, passed away at the age of 85 in Odessa. The National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine confirmed the information about Burlaka’s death.
Burlaka worked with such directors as Stanislav Govorukhin, Pyotr Todorovsky, Grigory Pozhenyan, Valentin Kozachkov, Vadim Lysenko, Viktor Zhilin, Igor Apasyan, Radomir Vasilevsky, Vladimir Ryabtsev, Alexander Amelin, and others.
